Matthew Paul Turner with his quick wit and humorous take on church life has written a superb memoir-ish story of what it means to be "churched".
Growing up as a fundamentalist Baptist can't be easy but with Turner's humor, we're able to get a sneak peek at just how interesting it was during his childhood. With a simple but direct approach, Turner weaves a smart and funny story together. The chapters are short but sweet and it's definitely something you can read in one sitting. It's enjoyable and for any church kid out there, it brings back memories of what life used to be like. (Because I don't know about you, but I went through a fundamentalist phase when I was a teenager... FUN TIMES....not)
Overall I give this book a 3.5/5
